Amazing Books → The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
“I wanted to tell the book thief many things, about beauty and brutality. But what could I tell her about those things that she didn’t already know? I wanted to explain that I am constantly overestimating and underestimating the human race-that rarely do I ever simply estimate it. I wanted to ask her how the same thing could be so ugly and so glorious, and its words and stories so damning and brilliant.”
Today has been just a really, really good day.
Accomplished a lot—mowed the lawn, fixed the vacuum, vacuumed the house, washed dishes from the last two weeks after the sink got fixed, cleaned my freezer from the pepsi explosion, hosted a kickass Halloween celebration for work, ran errands, dogsat, returned stuff and made it back home again!
Good things about the day…
found (and bought, you bettah believe!) P.G.Tips, after my hyvee has been out of it for weeks and WEEKS!!! I’m a happy girl with my tea!
Found some Fiddle Leaf Fig plants like I’ve been looking for (on clearance—holla!), and they’re in really nice condition. I’m extra pleased with myself, cuz only one was on the clearance rack, and the other one had a few dead leaves, so I asked if they could give me the clearance price and they did! I’m working (just a little) on being more assertive, so that was nice.
I really, really, really like accomplishing things.
Finn was ecstatic to see me when I got home! lots of whining, and I love when he runs towards me in the yard—it looks like he’s smiling!
Curling up and eating pizza while watching Captain America, even though Finn drove me crazy trying to get to my pizza. We’ve got some training to do!
Doing a charcoal & black sugar facial mask that I bought on a whim, and painting my toes with glitter nail polish.
Back to Captain America!
The Seven Dwarves had to work ten hour shifts, and halfway through Monday they were already exhausted, but they didn’t let it get them down. They believed in the intrinsic value of a hard day’s work, that every citizen should take pride in contributing to society. And they spent most of their work day GChatting with each other anyway, so.
